What is Counselling
Counselling is a process in which the counsellor and client work together on whatever issues seem important at the time.
Counsellors are trained to listen attentively and to help you understand what is going on for you. Counselling can help you to acknowledge what you are feeling and begin to change things for yourself.
A counselling session can be hard work. When people address their difficulties it can feel as though things are getting worse. Your counsellor will support you until you have reached a point where you feel you can move on.
When can Counselling Help? You may be worried about a painful experience in the past, or a difficult situation in the present. You may want to explore your own personal growth and development, or talk through a difficult decision.
At the initial session you can discuss your situation, and decide if you want to go ahead. Your counsellor will help you with decision making.
